The Weather Channel Vs. Bill Belichick — This Means War (Unless It Rains)
In Friday's press conference Bill Belichick took a few shots at meteorologists, saying that if history is any guide, they suck at their jobs. And although he didn't mention it by name, The Weather Channel took offense, and used an entire segment to put Belichick on blast.
Excerpt of Belichick's comments:
"They're almost always wrong. If I did my job the way they do theirs, I'd be here about a week."
The findings? Over the past five weeks, The Weather Channel has been off by an average of only 1.4 degrees. So one might say that if The Weather Channel did its job the way Belichick does his, they wouldn't last a week.
Going back two days before every game played this past Sunday, The Weather Channel looked at their its hour-by-hour forecast for every outdoor game and compared the predicted temperature with the actual temperature at game time.
The results were pretty remarkable, with only two game-time temperatures deviating by more than two degrees and none by more than five degrees.
