Eli Manning Is Most Definitely Not A Millennial
New York Giants quarterback and America's little brother, Eli Manning, was born in 1981. Most demographers define a "millennial" as anyone born between the early 1980's and the mid-to-late 1990's, so that means that Manning could ostensibly be included as a member of the most influential generation in the world today.
But as it turns out, he is most definitely not a millennial. Want proof?
Any question about whether or not he relates to the rambunctious, tech-savvy generation with which he overlaps will be answered definitively and hilariously with this video that was posted to the Giants Twitter account on Monday morning:
In case you didn't catch Eli's cameo, here's his former longtime teammate Osi Umenyiora to help you out.
Go back and watch again. I'll wait...
Oh god I love him. I've always respected and admired Eli's ability to be simultaneously dopey, aloof and impressively athletic. It's a rare combination that is on full display here. While the "youths" on his squad chase social media virality and practice their dance moves, he walks through the shot with all the swagger of a middle-aged accountant.
Long live Eli Manning, who is neither Generation X nor Millennial, but apparently a member of a generation that is all his own.
