Tom Brady ‘Fully Supports’ Peyton Manning; Admits He Has No Facts
One thing we've learned in 2015? Blind support is the best support. Tom Brady was quizzed during his weekly appearance on WEEI in Boston this morning, and the conversation inevitably wandered onto Peyton Manning's front porch, and the HGH shipment that did or did not appear there. According to a report by Al Jazeera, it did -- during his rehabilitation in 2011.
Manning has already denied the implication that he took illegal steroids, and that the report is "garbage", and "a total fabrication." But with a caveat, it now emerges. Manning told ESPN that "whatever medical shipments my wife received are her business." Yes, this clarifies EVERYTHING.
Brady on WEEI:
“I fully support Peyton. My friendship with him over the years, he's a guy that I can always count on, and has been someone that's always been so supportive of me. We'll have lifelong friendships. Truthfully I don't put much into anything. I have a lot of friends, I have a lot of support, and he is the same. I'm a big fan and supporter of his. That's how I really feel about everything.”
Is Brady saying that he supports Manning in the same fashion that he supports Donald Trump? In other words, he's a friend, and he's been good to me. So, whatever he's been accused of, I support him, whether he's guilty or not.
"There's always challenging times, but he's a tough guy. I know that. He's a very mentally and physically tough guy. … He's a big boy. He knows how to handle these things."
Nowhere in there is Brady saying "I don't believe he did it."
It's pretty much the same thing that Manning said when asked about Deflategate. Manning, to Dan Patrick earlier this year:
“I've said it before: Tom is a friend of mine. He'll always be a friend of mine. It's a situation that I don't know all the details. I have not read all of the reports, any of the reports, and our friendship won't change no matter what happens.”
The Al Jazeera documentary has yet to air, but reportedly has more damning evidence. But Brady doesn't care. Hey, he supported me in Deflategate, so I support him now. Vote Trump.
