Adam Schefter Says Tony Romo Is Out For The Season. Jason Garrett Says Adam Schefter Is Wrong.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Tony Romo is out for the season with a back injury.

According to Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, Tony Romo is not out for the season with a back injury.

Well, I’m not sure what to think. Schefter has a pretty great track record when it comes to NFL reporting… but the head coach is directly refuting his report. Schefter wins the reliability battle, but Garrett is literally the guy that can make the decision. So, you judge.

We’ll keep you updated.

For the record, the Twitterverse was already counting the Cowboys out of their sudden death matchup vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, presuming that Kyle Orton would be the starter. The point spread moved from Eagles -1 yesterday to Eagles -7.5 today, which is sort of insane, given that Kyle Orton is decent and Matt Cassell just absolutely torched this porous Eagles secondary. (Though now the line was taken down again.)

So even if it is Orton, I think the Cowboys have a shot. Stay tuned.
