Twitter Reacts To Adam Schefter Implying That Cam Newton’s Car Accident Somehow Made Him Better At Football
Last December, Cam Newton was jackknifed while crossing an intersection in downtown Charlotte, en route to the Panthers' team facility to watch tape on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. (That'll teach him to prepare for opponents!) Based on photos of the damage to his truck -- which rolled over -- and more than a few erroneous reports regarding his physical condition, the initial reaction to Cam's accident was that of sheer horror. People were legitimately concerned for his life.
Then this photo popped up and the NFL community collectively exhaled a sigh of relief.
Fast-forward 365 days later, and Cam Newton is an MVP-candidate on team flirting with a perfect season. Go figure.
Adam Schefter seems to have consulted with his personal astrologist and concluded that there is, in fact, a correlation between Cam's near-death experience and the Carolina Panther's recent success. Wednesday morning, Schefter dropped this loaded factoid on Twitter, prompting a series of confused, hilarious responses from those of us who don't really see the connection.
Today is one-year anniversary of Cam Newton’s car accident. Before accident, Newton was 3-8-1. Since the accident, Newton is a perfect 14-0.

@AdamSchefter incredbly selfish on his part to not get into any more crashes. Guess hes ok with being "good enough" now
