VIDEO: Reggie Bush Loses Battle With Rams Concrete Sideline
Reggie Bush got his first start for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon, replacing the injured Carlos Hyde, and was almost immediately sidelined when he became the latest victim of the inexplicable concrete that lines the field at the St. Louis Rams' Edward Jones Dome.
Upon running out of bounds, Bush slipped on the concrete and slid legs first into the wall.
As the NFL Network's Jeff Darlington illustrates with his tweet, this is the exact same thing that happened to Browns QB Josh McCown just last week.
McCown walked away from his injury shaking his arm but remained in the game. Bush was not so lucky. After clutching his knee post-collision, he was carted off the field and did not return to the game.
As a result, the 49ers currently have just 21 yards rushing as they enter the latter minutes of the third quarter. Of course, it's quite possible that they wayward Niners would have found a way to suck that badly even with Bush on the field; but let's give them the benefit of the doubt for now. They've suffered enough.
