VINE: Carlos Hyde Takes Gruesome Cheap Shot To The Knee
Carlos Hyde had a breakout performance for the San Francisco 49ers in their Week 1 Monday Night Football win over the Minnesota Vikings, rushing 26 times for 168 yards and 2 TDs. So it's no surprise that he was the early focus of the Steelers defense in their game at Heinz Field.
Unfortunately, it looks like they were trying to hurt him rather than play actual defense against him. Here's safety Mike Mitchell gunning right for Hyde's knee after he was already being tackled. DO NOT WATCH IF YOU ARE SUPER SQUEAMISH.
That's definitely not legal. Yikes. Apparently the Niners think and/or hope Hyde is made of titanium or whatever Iron Man's suit is made of because he has continued to play since enduring that hit. It's fairly obvious that he is hurting though, and the San Francisco offense has stalled out. They are currently down 22-3 to the Steelers midway through the 2nd quarter.
