Watch A 7-Year-Old Christian McCaffrey Score A TD And Sign The Ball With A Sharpie
December 10 / Rick Chandler / SportsGrid
Christian McCaffrey's father, the great wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, played for the Denver Broncos, so it's not surprising that Christian ended up in a youth football exhibition game at Mile High Stadium, circa approximately 2002.
That's also the year that Terrell Owens pulled off his infamous Sharpie celebration for the 49ers. In October, Owens scored a TD against the Seahawks, and celebrated by pulling a pen out of his sock and signing the football.
So, when little McCaffrey (then seven years old) did the same against a team of NFL mascots at Mile High, he did the Sharpie thing too. He then heaved the ball into the stands.
That's a nice deke on the Houston Texans' mascot, Toro, by the way -- although the mascot seemed reluctant to tackle a 7-year-old, and I don't blame him. What's actually more impressive is the crack-back block on Billy Buffalo, the Bills' mascot. Devastating. Who is that kid?
McCaffrey finds out of he wins the Heisman Trophy on Saturday.
