WATCH: Peyton Manning Interview And Al Jazeera Report
Al Jazeera's documentary implicating Peyton Manning's involvement in a performance enhancing drug ring predictably made Peyton Manning very angry, which he made crystal clear to Lisa Salters on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown." At the end of an illustrious, 18-year professional football career, the last thing someone wants to have to deal with is PED accusations.
Alas, there is evidence that human growth hormone was sent to his home back in 2011. Whether it's true or not, you can understand why Peyton Manning would be livid.
Here's how he responded when asked about the report...
"What hurts me the most, whoever this guy is -- this slapstick -- trying to insinuate when i was a broken neck, i had a bad neck, and i busted my butt to get healthy -- put in a lot of hard work -- i saw a lot of doctors. i went to the guyer clinic. he had a hyperbaric chamber the colts' doctor thought might help. don't know if it helped. disintegrate hurt. time ended up being probably my best medicine along with a lot of hard work. it stings me to say i broke NFL rules. it's sick."
Manning has hired former Bush Administration press secretary Ari Fleischer as a crisis manager.
