Vance Joseph stepped up from offensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins to head coach of the Denver Broncos just now — John Elway announcing the hire on Twitter. Actually it look like Elway announced it on Wikipedia first, as this below appeared about two hours ago:


Oh that has Elway’s fingerprints all over it.

Adam Schefter of ESPN says that Joseph got a 4-year deal. No other details as of yet.

This makes Joseph the first full-time African-American head coach in Broncos’ history.


Sean McDermott, who was the defensive coordinator with Carolina Panthers, hired by the Buffalo Bills, filling second head coaching vacancy.
