You’re Not Funny! Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio Jokes About Rape On Twitter, Regrets It
I'll admit, the concept of Jared Fogle imploding in scandal would be funny, if it weren't for the actual circumstances. But this involves children, so it's a subject better left alone -- perhaps an experienced comedian in a celebrity roast setting could make something work, I don't know. Most likely Jeff Ross is even saying "No thanks, I'll pass."
But not Mike Florio. He's the author of a popular NFL blog on NBC.com, and today he tweeted this:

As a comedian, Mike Florio is a good attorney. Just look at him -- the haircut does not scream Evening at the Improv.
Anyway, Florio quickly deleted his tweet when the blowback started ... because over at NBCSports, there's a many-headed corporate beast that guards the building, and this makes him angry.
Can you imagine what Florio heard from his bosses that got him to take down his tweet? (If you can, feel free to respond with some of them.)

So he apologized, kind of.

But does deleting a tweet make the issue go away, or just add Kingsford Charcoal Lighter to the fire? Let's take a look.

Florio has somehow tricked people into visiting his site millions of times a month.

Conclusion: Deleting the tweet and adding a half-assed apology/explanation just makes matters worse. But that's Florio, and that's NBCSports -- a match made in a comedy club next to a Motel 6.
