Not Everyone Is On Board With NHL’s ‘Hockey Is For Everyone’ Initiative
Promoting unity and diversity and letting the LGBTQ community know that they're valued and welcome is a good thing, right? We doff our cap to the NHL for participating in a series of 'Hockey Is For Everyone' nights -- many which are happening tonight. It's a joint effort with the league and You Can Play, an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in hockey.
For instance, the New York Rangers have added several rainbow touches for its game tonight with the Anaheim Ducks, and the San Jose Sharks and host Buffalo Sabres are using rainbow hockey sticks for warmups.
Apparently though, some are not down with the program.

I'm laughing at all the people who are upset that the New York Rangers put rainbow tape on their sticks, and added a rainbow to the logo.

It's tough to imagine that tonight would be a hard sell to anyone ... but some people you just can't please. I'm hard-pressed to see how lighting Madison Square Garden in rainbow colors could offend you, but then I'm not insane.
