Oh, The Indignity: Edmonton Oilers Endure Walk Of Shame Following 7-1 Loss
Rick Chandler 01:40 pm, November 24th, 2014
The Edmonton Oilers today fired goalie coach Frederic Chabot, and replaced him with Dustin Schwartz. To which I respond -- the Oilers had a goalie coach?
Edmonton lost to Chicago on Saturday, 7-1, which is bad enough. But the configuration of their home arena, Rexall Place, makes it necessary for the team to depart the ice for the locker room through a public concourse. And on Saturday, that made for a humiliating walk of shame.
They're not booing, they're saying ... well yeah, they're booing.
That was brutal. Notice the goalie stifly walking through at the end -- it's like the people of Detroit booing Robocop.
This is the culmination of a long drawn out lack of management skill. And the extreme lacklustre performance on the ice Saturday night, means that this was warranted. All of us fans are sick of the promises and the lack of delivery!
