Simpsons Finally Did It; Wayne Gretzky To Appear On December Episode
Wayne Gretzky owns countless records throughout hockey history.
The Simpsons owns countless records throughout television history.
There's going to be a lot of records and trophies converging in one media this December, as the hockey legend, known as "The Great One" is set to appear on an upcoming episode of the series, the longest-running scripted American prime-time series, its 28 season outlasting Gretzky's 21-year NHL career.
Gretzky, whose episode is set to air on December 4, joins an illustrious list of superstar athletes who have guest starred/voiced on The Simpons, including Tom Brady, Magic Johnson, and the numerous MLB All-Stars of the famous 1992 episode "Homer at the Bat".
Details on Gretzky's role are unknown for the time being, but an official listing from Fox says that a workplace accident will leave Homer in a cast and in a position to sue Mr. Burns, which leaves an unfulfilled Marge turning to an unexpected source for romance. Could this unexpected paramour be The Great One, who must be a big fan of blue based on his tenures in Edmonton, St. Louis and New York?
Lasting for over two decades (and guaranteed to make it to a third), The Simpsons, of course, have ventured to the ice before, most notably in the sixth season episode "Lisa on Ice".
The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8:00 PM EST on Fox.
