VIDEO: What’re You Doing Alex Burrows???
We've seen players get thrown into opposing benches during many an NHL game.
But what about a player intentionally tossing himself onto a team's bench that isn't his own?
That's exactly what Alexandre Burrows did during his Vancouver Canucks' tilt against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night, a 4-3 St. Louis victory.
Burrows would later claim he was trying to avoid the puck, which was being shot down by a teammate into the Blues' zone, but clearly spends a little more time than necessary curling up to several unamused Blues on the bench. Eventually, one of the officials sees this debauchery and escorts Burrows off the St Louis sidelines.
It wasn't the first on the evening that Burrows got into trouble with the opponent. In the first period, he earned a two minute minor penalty for a high stick on Scottie Upshall. He also had an assist on Jared McCann's 3rd period goal. On the young season, Burrows has one goal and three assists.
