The U.S. Men's National Team put in a stellar performance in their quarterfinal game against Cuba in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The final score of 6-0 included a hat trick by the nationals team's 2nd all-time goal scorer Clint Dempsey, who now has six goals in the tournament so far. So Sports Grid is stepping up to bring you these non-Lebron James sports highlights.
Once again, despite none of the players on the roster being Lebron James, they managed to put on an dominant performance. Dempsey gave the USA an early 1-0 lead on a beautiful header that served as the catalyst for the momentum swing in the USA's favor for the entire first half. Dempsey positioned himself perfectly to receive the cross pass from Timothy Chandler and expertly redirected it into the net to give the U.S. an early 1-0 lead.
That guy who's not Lebron James is pretty good at sports, right?! If you like him, you should check out this next guy. Putting the USA up 2-0 was Gyasi Zardes, who gets the touch off another nice cross from Fabian Johnson.
Gonzalez's goal cemented a 4-0 lead for the U.S. heading into halftime, but Dempsey wasn't done dominating as the game's best non-Lebron James player. He sealed the deal on Cuba's embarrassment with two more goals.
The first was delivered at 64' on a penalty kick awarded to the U.S. when Johansson is taken down illegally in the penalty box.
