Mexico’s Fans Literally Fought Their Way Through The CONCACAF Golf Cup
Mexico's road to the CONCACAF Gold Cup Final was paved with botched calls. Depending on who you ask, there may have been more to it than just bad officiating, but it's a slippery slope putting creedence into the conspiracy theories of butthurt soccer fans. All we know is that both Costa Rica and Panama got the shaft at the hands of El Tri -- which lead to some touchy moments both on the pitch and in the crowd.
Especially in the crowd, though. (And at the airport.)
A quick YouTube search for "Copa Oro brawl" yields the kind of nasty human behavior that makes you never want to attend a sporting event for the rest of your life. Some of Mexico's fans -- undoubtedly buzzed and in need of defending themselves as their side ran away with game after game -- were filmed brawling throughout the Georgia Dome with Panamanian and Honduran supporters, with one particular fight yielding two angles of an insane knockout with an audible "crunch."
It wasn't the only knockout captured on cell phone video.
The newest, ugliest CONCACAF rivalry, below.
