We have discovered that New York City FC fans are either sore losers or masters in the art of stealth. On Sunday, the New York Red Bulls took on NYCFC in the New York Derby. Three weeks after being shut out by their cross town rivals 2-0, the Red Bulls walked away with a win by a score of 4-1, proving once again that New York is red...or is it? After the game, one NYCFC fan took it upon himself to take home a "souvenir" from Red Bulls Arena in the form of a chair. Yes, NYCFC fan Andy took an ACTUAL seat from the stadium and decided to post about it on Instagram. Granted it was a blue seat, but just because something fits the mold of your puns doesn't mean you have to break the law!
Now many questions come to mind with this story, how did he take the seat from the ground? How didn't he get caught? Why didn't any Red Bulls fans stop him? While we can't answer those at the moment, we can assume there will be consequences to his actions. The NYCFC Einstein has since deleted the picture from his account, but will most likely face a ban from Red Bulls Arena.
As amazing of an accomplishment this is, it's not worth getting banned from a stadium. Although I never plan to attend a Red Bulls game, I would give anything to be there when he tries to re-enter the arena and hear security start quoting Pixar...Andy's coming!
