US Soccer & Fans Rally Around Lauren Holiday Before Surgery
Wife of New Orleans Pelican guard Jrue Holiday and retired USWNT midfielder Lauren Holiday prepared to undergo surgery on a benign brain tumor Thursday. The procedure was held off until after the recently pregnant Holiday gave birth to a healthy baby girl in late September, according to USA Today Sports.
USWNT and the rest of the soccer world rallied around Holiday as she prepared for her surgery. Her former teammates wore tape on their wrists labeled "LH12," Holiday's initials and number, in their game Wednesday night.

Holiday won two Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012, and the 2015 FIFA World Cup with USWNT. But she is regarded as an even better teammate and person, according to the outpouring of supportive tweets, including these posts from US Soccer Weekly and a USWNT fan account.

With all these prayers and well wishes, Jrue was confident he and Baby Holiday have nothing to worry about.
There is nothing in life my wife can't conquer with Jesus Christ in her corner. Thank you all so much for your support! God bless!

Lauren, here's to a successful procedure and speedy recovery. If you're as good a parent as you were a soccer player, you're going to make one bad ass mom.
