All The Crazy Shit Nick Kyrgios Pulled During His US Open Match Vs. Andy Murray
Nick Kyrgios is the petulant young tennis star that has emerged out of Australia as the latest "bad boy" of tennis, and on Tuesday night he took on Andy Murray at the US Open. Considering his reputation, and the fact that Murray beat him in three sets in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Australian Open, everyone was anticipating more Kyrgios antics.
Unsurprisingly, Murray won the match, securing the match point only 27 minutes into the fourth set. Kyrgios showed flashes of the athleticism and intensity that makes him such a dynamic young player, but more than anything, he provided the melodrama.
Of course there is no better place to celebrate (or debate) a personality like Kyrgios than Twitter. So here's the best of Kyrgios' ridiculousness, as narrated by Vines and tweets.
Let's start with NAPS! After losing his first set against Murray, he pretended like he was chill enough to take a quick nap right there on the court; as if that would ever be possible.
The same guy who tried to act like he was in nap mode also got into a pissing match with the umpire over the crowd making noise and distracting him during play.
TRICK SHOTS! He pulled off this 'tween the legs trick shot and followed it up with a devastating forehand shot.
FLYING RACKETS! His racket went rogue and it appears he blamed it on the poor guy who tried to bring it back to him.
WHINING! According to reporters, he started complaining that the "balls get lost in the lights" when he tries to serve.
TANTRUMS! His racket took another beating.
FLASHINESS! Back to between the legs! Because why not.
RANTING! Because there's no better way to convince people that you have your shit together than to yell at yourself.
