Andy Murray Irks Fans By Revealing His Support For Scottish Independence
As you know, Scotland's voters are heading to the polls today to cast their votes in a historic referendum on independence from the United Kingdom. I'm not up on all the details, but Shrek, JK Rowling and Kermit the Frog are all supporting the "no" side, so that's good enough for me.
But wait! This just in: Andy Murray is supporting "yes".
Huge day for Scotland today! no campaign negativity last few days totally swayed my view on it. excited to see the outcome. lets do this!

Murray, the 2013 Wimbledon champ and 2012 Olympic gold medalist, is Scottish, but lives in England and doesn't have a vote in the referendum. Until now he's been noncommittal on the issue, which has generated increasing acrimony leading up to today's vote. My favorite response so far, which could only have been created in Great Britain:
Andy Murray is a miserable toad

It didn't take long for the "yes" side to turn Murray's tweet into a campaign poster:

Murray would have come out as pro-independence earlier but poor guy far too busy counting his money & living outside Scotland. #andymurray

Then there was this, from an account that is currently not active:
So far polls show the "no" side with a slight lead, but here's the thing: In Scotland, 16-year-olds are allowed to vote. Think about that terrifying prospect, and realize the polls mean nothing, because 16-year-olds can change their minds four times in 10 minutes.
