Novak Djokovic Complains Of Contact High From Fan Smoking Weed During Rogers Cup Match
Novak Djokovic -- more like Narc-vak Djokovic. Yes, I write professionally.
Ol' Narc-vak was cruising during his semifinal match at the Rogers Cup against Jeremy Chardy, en route to a 6-4, 6-4 victory, when in between sets he complained to the umpire that somebody was smoking weed in the stadium, making him "dizzy."
If you can't hear the full complaint: "Someone is smoking weed, I can smell it, I’m getting dizzy. Somebody is getting high. Can you smell it? The whole place smells of it."
After the match, Djokovic said "You can’t believe how bad it was. Whoever it is, I hope he doesn’t come back tomorrow. He’s probably on the seventh sky somewhere." He added that he had also smelled it the day before during a doubles match.
Now, was the Djoker really getting dizzy -- like, stoned? -- due to the smell of pot? Probably not, since: a) he absolutely dominated Chardy, b) it's a little tough to hot box an open air stadium like that, enough to get someone on the court to feel "dizzy," at least and c) just, like, c'mon. But complaining that it was affecting him directly was a good way to shame whoever was smoking into stopping, so we respect the method.
Dear Canadians: You're too polite for this. Cut it out, and get stoned in the privacy of your bathroom while listening to D'Angelo like any self-respecting cannabis user.
