All Your Wrestling Heroes Are Going Down: Jimmy Superfly Snuka Indicted For Murdering His Girlfriend In 1983
What? Your two favorite pro wrestlers are Hulk Hogan and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka? Bummer week for you, man.
Snuka, now 72, is out on $100,000 bail today after finally being charged with the 1983 death of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, in Allentown, PA. The 32-year-old case got a fresh look in 2013, and Lehigh County prosecutors now figure they've got the goods, charging Snuka with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.
Snuka and Argentino has been staying at the George Washington Motor Lodge when Snuka called an ambulance, claiming that she slipped and hit her head. But an autopsy revealed that Argentino has=d suffered from brain injuries, cuts and bruises, and died of "undetermined craniocerebral injuries."
Snuka, from Fiji, was famous for his acrobatic descents from the top rope, and also his feud with Jesse "The Body" Ventura. In 1985, Argentino's parents won a wrongful death lawsuit against him. Weirdly, Wikipedia lists him as "semi-retired", even though he's 72 and has battled stomach cancer.
