Bernie Sandwich: MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Messes Up, Twitter Wins
Where there was once "boom goes the dynamite," there is now #BernieSandwich.
That's right. In the greatest thing to go viral since pizza rat, video of MSNBC's Chris Hayes accidentally calling presidential candidate Bernie Sanders "Bernie Sandwich" is taking the internet by storm. Here is Hayes, trying to discuss why the Vermont senator did so well in the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday night:
That's not going to get old for a really long time. This Vine has legs. Serious legs. He could have said anything, but he said sandwich. Like Megyn Kelly, he could've said "sandal," which is good but not nearly as funny as sandwich.
Other words he could've said that would've been less funny are:
He could've even messed up with first name and ended up with "Burning Sanders" or "Blarney Sanders." But he didn't. He said "Bernie Sandwich" and I'm so very grateful that he did.
It is surprising that it took a live TV slip up for the Bernie Sandwich idea to catch on since it seems to obvious. Now that it is out there though, Twitter is running with it in glorious fashion.
