Oscar Pistorius Guilty Of Murder, Photographer Guilty Of This Snot Photo
If only we had some kind of indication on how the South African public feels about the Oscar Pistorius appeals trial. Oh well ... I guess we'll never know.
The photo left was taken outside of the courthouse, before the former Olympian was found guilty of murdering his fiancee by a South African appeals court judge. The verdict was changed from the previous manslaughter, to which Pistorius had been sentenced to one year of house arrest. He now faces 15 years in prison.
Upon hearing the sentence, Pistorius broke down, and Getty Images got this photo, below. Many on social media, who also wanted to see a stiffer sentence and aren't exactly Pistorius fans, are passing around the photo with glee.
So Pistorius got what he deserved -- I guess, I haven't followed the case that closely. But do we then rejoice in his misery? Forgive me, but I can't. I'm glad that justice was served, but it's not necessary to dance on the grave.
Besides, an image of me dancing would be worse than the snot photo.
