This is an open letter to the fine people at the Miller Brewing Company, asking to bring back the classic “Tastes Great/Less Filling” Miller Lite commercials from the ‘70s and ‘80s. Players and coaches battled over whether the beer was so popular and great because it tasted great or because it was less filling. Usually with a silly ending, like John Madden bursting through the barroom wall.
John Madden’s popularity exploded because of these commercials, along with Bob Uecker, Deacon Jones, Dick Butkus and Bubba Smith, after they took part in this campaign.
With social media, this is a natural Twitter voting campaign, too, with #TastesGreat and #LessFilling hashtags everywhere. Sure, you’ll get the haters ditching on the beer and maybe some of the players involved, but there are still some good characters that they could use in this campaign.
And the players we have in mind would cost Miller a fortune to get!
