On Friday Woods committed to competing in the Safeway Open, which is the first PGA Tour event of the 2016-17 season and will be his first tournament since August 2015.
There are mixed feelings about the 14-time major champion's comeback. Some are ecstatic to see the most electrifying player in the sport hit the links again.

Despite negative things I've said in the past, I'm genuinely cheering for @TigerWoods to do well in his comeback. Go get em', Tiger!

Others, not so much...
I wish I could be as upbeat as some of my associates are about Tiger Woods' comeback. Big homie is done. Life is cruel like that sometimes!

I tend to agree with this guy.
I don't care if you think Tiger Woods is washed up. Golf is far better off when he tees it up

Whether you are a Tiger Woods fan or not, professional golf is better with him on the course. He brings an x-factor that no other player does. And whether he wins all four majors this year or shoots 112, more people will watch the sport simply because Woods is playing.
Welcome back Tiger. Try to stay a bit longer this time.
