How And Where to Watch Donald Trump’s Iowa Fundraiser For Veterans
Donald Trump has done more for the Thursday night FOX News Republican debate — in terms of drawing attention to and creating a buzz for it by choosing not to participate — than the cable network would have ever been able to do on its own.
Trump, citing everything from Megyn Kelly’s presence as the moderator to a jokey release put out by FOX News, has refused to take part in the event — instead holding a fundraiser, at 9 p.m. Eastern, to benefit veterans. Thursday afternoon, debate undercard participants Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum announced they would join Trump at the event.
While FOX News will be busy broadcasting the debate, C-SPAN will cover the Trump event, as will cable upstarts One America News and The Blaze (available on Cablevision and online at TheBlaze.com). CBSN — a streaming arm of CBS — will live stream the event on its site. Trump’s campaign said that it will grant access to virtually any news organization wanting to cover the event.
A live stream of the event will also be hosted by RSBN-TV. We embedded it for your viewing pleasure, below.
And what does this have to do with sports? As George Atallah, NFLPA Assistant Executive Director of External Affairs tweeted Thursday afternoon:
I hope every NFL player - and athlete for that matter - is paying attention to this Trump vs Fox showdown as a lesson in leverage.
