Spanish Matador Gored To Death On Live TV Sparks Hail Of Twitter Congrats To Bull
One of the top bullfighters in Spain, Victor Barrio, was gored to death in a town near Madrid on Saturday -- becoming the first matador to die in the ring since 1986. They held his funeral today and hundreds attended, but the incident also renewed calls in that country to ban bullfighting for good.
What makes the death even more horrific is that it was broadcast on live TV in Spain, and that Barrio's wife was in the stands when it happened. WARNING: The video below is quite graphic:

As a thinking, rational person of the human persuasion, it's against my nature to applaud anyone's death. No, I wouldn't even go back in time to kill baby Hitler -- I'd go a few years further back and turn Hitler's future father gay.
You're welcome humanity.
Another gift for the human race would be for someone to ban bullfighting for all time. It's an idiotic, barbaric "sport" in which animals are slowly tortured to death in the name of "tradition." Other popular traditions in our history have been slavery, forcing women who have been raped to marry their rapist, and the Salem Witch Trials. Yeah, some traditions needed to be dragged to the trash.
But bullfighting stubbornly persists -- mostly in Spain and some South American countries. The practice has become so odious that many people are actually rooting for the bulls to inflict grievous bodily harm on their human tormentors. An average of 10 people a year are killed by bulls, most during bull running events.
The biggest one of those, the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, is currently in the fifth day of its eight-day run. Today three people were gored, one seriously.
Dozens, and perhaps hundreds of matadors have been gored over the past 30 years, but all have survived until today. One matador was even gored through the throat, with the bull's horn exiting through his mouth. But somehow, bullfighting is still a thing.
After Barrio's death, Twitter went into attack mode -- and it wasn't against the bull.
Ha. Absolutely no chill.
