DONOVAN SOLANO IS A MUST-START ON TUESDAY NIGHT
There simply isn’t a more prominent bargain player in Daily Fantasy Baseball on Tuesday than Miami second baseman Donovan Solano. On straight matchup alone, it appears Kris Medlen is set to mow through a weak Marlins lineup. But he is going to have a tough time getting Solano out. The infielder, priced at $3,000 on DraftKings tonight, has four hits in seven career at-bats against Medlen. Solano has two career home runs in the majors, and both came off of Medlen, when the Atlanta starter was tearing through the opposition last season. Solano is a must-start in any game, on any site. Medlen should fear Solano more than Giancarlo Stanton tonight. Medlen is also not guaranteed to dominate Miami, either, with the likes of Solano terrorizing him and a dire need for the Marlins to show any signs of life on offense. Placiso Polanco (3,200) is also 4-for-5 against Medlen.
Other top bargains include Jeff Francoeur (3,300), who has fared well against former Mets teammate Mike Pelfrey. He has six hits in 19 at-bats with three doubles against the Minnesota starter. Justin Morneau (3,800) is 5-for-14 with two doubles and two home runs against Jeremy Guthrie. Ruben Tejada (2,600) is 6-for-13 with two doubles against Cliff Lee, and teammate Daniel Murphy (3,900) is 6-for-19 with three doubles against Lee, but the Philadelphia hurler may need to act as an effective stopper tonight and could shut the Mets down, so Tejada and Murphy are risky plays.
Jon Jay is a strong bargain play at 3,500, as he is 10-for-25 with two doubles, a triple and a home run against Bronson Arroyo. Chris Nelson (3,300) is 4-for-6 against Tim Lincecum. Denard Span (3,900) is 5-for-17 with four doubles against Jake Peavy.
Don’t hesitate to spend on Gio Gonzalez tonight, as he is $10,500 on DraftKings, but current White Sox hitters have a combined .167 average against him. Andy Pettitte (8,900) also should get strong consideration, as current Cleveland hitters are batting .240 against him. Current Oakland hitters have a combined .157 average against C.J. Wilson (8,900).
