A Lineup To Make The Cut To 800 In The Fanduel.com Survivor Tournament
This is my lineup for Week 8 in the Fanduel.com Survivor Tournament. We started out with 9,500 teams in this tournament, and are now down to the final 1,200. I need to finish among the Top 800 this week to advance. It will now start to get tough to advance in this tournament. I began with a single entry against some of the best players in Daily Fantasy, including some who made 100 entries. That being said, we are ready to go this week.
QB: Jay Cutler faces the New England Patriots, who are extremely stingy against the QB position in 2014. They are the third best team against the QB position, but that all goes out the window. The Patriots have lost Chandler Jones and Jarrod Mayo, and now Darrell Revis has a groin issue. Cutler will put up points against this Patriots defense, which has looked better than they are because they haven’t faced many quality QBs in 2014 so far.
RB: Matt Forte and DeMarco Murray are sure locks this week. If the Fanduel.com scoring was a full point PPR, I would have gone with Forte. The Chiefs are only allowing 11 Fantasy points per game to running backs. Tre Mason is a selection based on price, and I truly believe the Rams can score on the Chiefs.
WR: Look for continued dominance from the Green Bay Packers’ passing game against the Saints. The Saints are allowing 27 points per game to wide receivers, the second-worst in the NFL. I paid the money for Jordy Nelson looking for some six-point plays. The Buccaneers are the worst team in the NFL at defending the wide receiver position. Cordarrelle Patterson is underpriced based on his subpar performance over the last couple of weeks. He could strike fire this weekend against a poor secondary. Michael Floyd is a happy camper now that Carson Palmer is back at the QB position for the Cardinals. The Eagles allow 24 points per game to the QB position.
TE: Travis Kelce: Kelce is the best tight end for the price on the board at Fanduel.com. He is banged up, so make sure he plays. A cheap flier option will be Scott Chandler of the Bills.
K: Just throwing a cheap kicker out.
Def: Oakland Raiders? Have I lost my mind? Hey, I don’t want to pay for a defense and last week the Browns could not move the ball against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is nothing but a gamble here on my defense.
