SETTING THE LINEUP FOR NIGHT ACTION
P: We are short on games tonight in Major League Baseball with some heavy day action. Go with Clayton Kershaw pitching in spacious Dodger Stadium. In daily leagues that require two pitchers, go with cheap, old and somewhat reliable Baltimore Oriole Freddy Garcia. He has an ERA under 4.00, and pitched a gem last time out, retiring 21 of the last 22 hitters.
C: Kurt Suzuki is one of the lowest priced starting catchers in daily Fantasy Baseball. Right-handed hitters are batting .298 against Mets starter Dillon Gee and have homered every 7 IP.
1B: Mitch Moreland is still a value at first base, with some pop, against John Lackey.
2B: Jonathan Herrera: Herrera is against a first time starter in Pedro Villarreal. I am taking the names off the back of the jersey and playing the situation.
SS: We still have the money to include Troy Tulowitzki in tonight’s matchup with the Reds.
3B: Todd Frazier: Frazier has struggled all season long. I refuse to believe last season was a fluke; I am looking for the real Todd Frazier to emerge. He is undervalued in daily Fantasy Baseball and should emerge to become a Top 10 third baseman. Let’s stay cheap and play a quality hitter vs. Jon Garland in a great hitter’s ballpark.
OF: Ok, I hate being that guy, but tonight I am that guy with Yasiel Puig. He is coming off two home runs last evening and now facing the overachieving Jason Marquis. Jay Bruce is facing right-hander Jon Garland in the Great American Small Park. Alex Gordon is the lone bright spot offensively for the Kansas City Royals. Gordon is hitting .283 against right-handed pitching, and look for the Royals to score tonight against P.J. Walters. I also may like Jason Kubel against Joe Kelly.
