Brock Lesnar Didn’t Just Fail One Drug Test Leading Up To UFC200…He Failed Two
Brock Lesnar's return to the UFC was met with wide acclaim after he defeated Mark Hunt by decision. Lesnar's ability to get through Hunt was impressive, exciting, and proved that Lesnar is one of the most freakish athletes on the planet. Leading up to the fight there were whispers of Lesnar failing a drug test. However, up until the fight Lesnar passed every test thrown at him. Especially with the Jon Jones suspension days before the fight, it was critical that Brock Lesnar's samples came back clean. And they did, until after the fight.
It was reported late last week that Lesnar's sample on June 28th did indeed test positive for a banned substance. UFC did not hear from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency until five days after the fight and thus Lesnar still fought and defeated Hunter. Lesnar denied the allegations and promised to look into the failed drug test. Unfortunately for Lesnar, that wasn't the only drug test he failed.
According to UFC, Lesnar failed another drug test on July 9th, the day of the fight. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency told UFC that Lesnar tested positive for the same substance that he did on the June 28th failed test.
So we'll go out on a limb and say that Lesnar's first failed drug test wasn't just a bad sample. Mark Hunt, who has not failed a drug test, has demanded to receive the purse that Lesnar received in defeating him.
Lesnar is expected to face Randy Orton at WWE's Summerslam on August 21st. In accordance with the WWE's drug policy, Lesnar should be suspended for thirty days due to the violation. Of course, if WWE suspended him tonight, he would be eligible to participate at Summerslam. We expect once the WWE Draft is completed Tuesday night, they will suspend him on Wednesday. This would mean that both participants in WWE's WrestleMania 31 main event, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, have reached tested positive for a banned substance in the last month.
That's not a good look. All hail the architect, Seth Rollins!
