BSO Live to Air on FNTSY Sports Radio Network Beginning Aug. 1
BSO Live, hosted by the incredibly popular and influential Robert Littal of BlackSportsOnline.com, is set to launch on the FNTSY Sports Radio Network on August 1. Airing weekdays from noon to 1 pm ET, BSO Live is the culmination of an effort that Littal launched more than 10 years ago with his website, BlackSportsOnline.com. Littal sought to provide space for differing opinions and create opportunities for young minority and female journalists to express their views. Over the last decade, BlackSportsOnline has grown into one of the go-to sites on the internet for sports and entertainment news and opinions. With over five million monthly users, BSO reporters present coverage of everything imaginable in the world of sports and entertainment, with a unified, yet unique voice.
A little less than two years ago, Littal sought to expand the reach of BlackSportsOnline, and grow the audience with the launch of his podcast, “The Drip Drop Hour.” When he started the podcast, the long-term plan was to eventually move into mainstream radio. We had an opportunity to speak with Mr. Littal and ask him about what he hopes to accomplish with BSO Live.
RX - Mr. Littal, what is it about the FNTSY Sports Radio Network that makes it a good fit for BSO Live and your mission with BlackSportsOnline.com?
RL – “Fantasy Sports players are intelligent, broad-minded and they are able to consider problems and ideas from many different perspectives. That’s really what BSO Live is supposed to be. We are going to present ideas and consider them from multiple perspectives. The goal is to come up with ideas that are well thought out and to present those ideas to as wide an audience as possible.”
“Another thing that’s really important to me is that the management team at FNTSY are not just allowing me to be myself, they are encouraging it. They are really one of the first mainstream companies I’ve dealt with that isn’t trying to shape my message. In fact, they’re really encouraging me to think through and discuss my proposals so they appeal to as broad an audience as possible.”
RX – You have mentioned Colin Kaepernick and the issues he’s had with NFL teams and League officials, who didn’t stand in his way and allowed him to express himself, only to later apply either heat or indifference to his protests. Do you have concerns about that happening to you?
RL - No, I’m not concerned at all. What’s happened to Kaepernick is disturbing. What he seems to be experiencing is indifference. If you’re getting indifference to your ideas then you’re sending the wrong message – there is something wrong with your message. The FNTSY Sports Network has allowed me to get my ideas and thoughts across to the audience and I’m looking forward to looking to working with them.
BSO Live will air on the FNTSY Sports Radio Network beginning August 1 from 12 Noon until 1 PM ET. You can listen here or via the FNTSY Sports Radio Network app for both IOS and Android mobile devices.
