CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL: Epic Finish Rescues Real In 93rd, Sends Them To 4-1 Victory

After a similar header by Atletico’s Diego Godin in the 35th minute, Spanish Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos managed to get the ball passed keeper Thibaut Courtois with a minute left in stoppage time of Saturday’s historic Champions League final between the inter-city rivals.

Then in stoppage time, Real starting scoring at will. First it was Bale off a deflection to make it 2-1…

Followed by Marcelo in the 27th minute of extra time…

And the icing on the cake? A Cristiano Ronaldo penalty kick, complete with a very eager shirtless celebration, sure to make everyone on Earth jealous, horny, or some combination of the two.

But the real fireworks happened after Ronaldo’s insulting, gratuitous celebration, when Atletico coach Diego Simeone ran onto the field and started confronting Real Madrid players. Prior to extra time, he had been upset that referee Bjorn Kuipers had called for five minutes of stoppage time (it did seem a bit hefty).

Stoppage time that took his side from the toast of the soccer world to the deepest, darkest misery a team can possibly know: Somehow getting blown out after leading for 92 minutes.

Then a Real’s Raphaël Varane kicked the ball at him as the match was expiring, which went sent him into a frenzy. We DO NOT blame him.
