Complete Game For Cueto, A-Missin’ Mets Lose Game 2
Kansas City Royals starter Johnny Cueto pitched nine strong innings to beat the Mets 7-1, in Game 2 of the 2015 World Series Wednesday.
Outside of Lucas Duda, who had two hits and an RBI, the Mets were hitless against Cueto and Co., and now they head back to New York down two games in the Series.
The Royals had big fifth and eighth innings to seal put this game away and keep the Mets from rallying.
The three major storylines for this game were:
- Cueto was absolutely dominant, just one start after allowing eight earned runs in two innings at Toronto in the American League Championship Series last week. It’ll be interesting if/when it comes back to Cueto next week, as he has been a model of inconsistency for the Royals since they acquired him in a late summer trade.
Standing ovation for Johnny Cueto. He earned the hell out of it.

- Mets starter Jacob deGrom gave up a career-high four earned runs in five innings, which was his worst outing since mid-September. But it’s tough to put the blame on him as much as it is to praise the Royals’ bats.
Jacob deGrom has pitched in 55 games in his career... Tonight is the first time he didn't produce a swing & miss with his fastball.

- The not-very-good production from Fox once again. Several times, they cut away from action at just strange times to go to commercial.
Now we go from CNBC having no idea how to show 10 people arguing to Fox having no idea how to show 9 people play baseball
