FEELINGS ARE HAPPENING: Lebron Honors Special Olympics MVP At Celtics Game
Despite dear old Tommy Heinsohn's efforts to convince you otherwise, Lebron James is doing a very good job at making people love him these days.
At halftime of Tuesday night's game between the Cavaliers and the Celtics, Boston fan Aaron Miller was honored in recognition of the MVP award he earned at the Special Olympics competitions in Boston. After the crowd delivered a roaring ovation for the young athlete, LeBron James ran over from his side of the court to offer Miller to his personal congratulations on the achievement; finishing it off with a loving pat on the head.
Yeah, the entire interaction was so adorable that it hurt.
I could look at his adorable, excited, surprised face forever. Apparently the MVP-on-MVP love didn't stop there though. According to multiple Celtics and Cavs reporters, James found Miller later on and gave him the sneakers he wore during the game.
It should also be noted that although any sneakers from one of the most famous athletes on the planet would be sweet, the Lebrons that Miller ended up with were especially bad ass.
On a night when the internet was littered with sad, depressing, soul-crushing recaps of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz trying to sell their special brand of garbage politics to America, it's so nice to just see a simple act of kindness on my television or computer screen.
Thanks for a really nice and genuinely heartwarming break from all the bullshit, Lebron.
