Forget Independence Vote: 'The Rumgay' Is The Hottest Thing In Scotland Since Andy Murray Hinted He May Do It
When Scotland's Gavin Rumgay won this match during table tennis competition at the Commonwealth Games in July, a new celebration was born. They call it The Rumgay, and it consists of pulling your shorts as far up as possible, then falling to the floor.
And the celebration hasn't abated. The Rumgay gained new life recently when Andy Murray, a friend of Rumgay's, tweeted the video, and said that he may do The Rumgay after winning his next title. And then a guy named Keith Meisner composed a song, which is glorious (see below).
this is how an old tennis friend who me and my brother used to practice with celebrates..might try it at us open https://t.co/gj369V3Hhc

Rumgay won the bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and is a nine-time Scottish national champion.
And now the song. Sample lyrics:
Do the Rumgay, and pull your shorts up to the sky
Do the Rumgay, and reveal a bit of thigh
Do the Rumgay, oh and give yourself a wedgie
Do the Rumgay like that mad mental ginger gadgy.
All song proceeds go to the Gavin Rumgay table tennis camp for kids, by the way.
There is actually a spike in table tennis popularity in the UK due to this, and also I would expect, many blue balls.
