New York Post headline tomorrow:

But yeah, Dustin Johnson reportedly tested positive for cocaine — for the second time — and has been suspended for six months by the PGA. Yesterday, Johnson announced that he’d be taking a “leave of absence” from golf due to personal reasons. This leave of absence was almost certainly a result of being told he couldn’t come hang out at the golf course.

It did seem like an odd time to take a break, considering he was in line for a Ryder Cup spot and would miss the PGA Championship.

According to the source, Johnson has failed three drug tests: one for marijuana in 2009 and two for cocaine, in 2012 and 2014. He was previously suspended for the 2012 failed test, but that suspension was never made public. Under the PGA Tour’s drug-testing policies, the Tour is not required to announce any disciplinary actions against players who test positive for recreational drugs.

So this isn’t the first time Johnson’s been suspended for drug use, but it’s the first time the PGA has allowed word of the discipline to leak.

Also, this part was weird:

Johnson’s conduct has long been a topic of conversation among close observers of the Tour. He is often seen in bars near his home in Jupiter, Fla., and is also known to have had a sexual indiscretion with at least one wife of a PGA Tour player.

Thanks for including that salient bit, UPDATE: We didn’t know this at the time, but apparently that wasn’t a hugely known thing. Deadspin made it their headline, and there’s this tweet FOXSports senior golf analyst Robert Lusetich:

Johnson is engaged to professional socialite Paulina Gretzky, making his cocaine use arguably the least surprising revelation ever. Here are some of photos of them together. Pretend like they’re on coke and they become a lot more fun:
