Mayweather Talks To LAPD, But Why Did He Attend Clippers Game Hours After ‘Best Friend’ Committed Murder-Suicide?
Los Angeles police finally got their interview with Floyd Mayweather Jr., who confirmed that he was on FaceTime when rapper friend Earl Hayes shot dead his wife, VH1 star Stephanie Moseley, before turning the gun on himself.
Mayweather said that he heard the shots and talked with Hayes, whom he described as his "best friend", before and after Moseley's murder. Mayweather says he talked with Hayes about the relationship, and then:
Hayes then put the phone down and opened fire on his wife with Mayweather listening. The rapper returned and told Mayweather that he planned to kill himself, and the fighter desperately tried to talk him out of it.
Hayes ignored his friend’s entreaties and took his own life, Mayweather said during a two-hour interview with the LAPD.
TMZ reports that Mayweather attended a Clippers game about three hours later, confirmed by photos of him at the game. He attended a Lakers game the following night. So is that the behavior of someone who just watched (or heard, actually) his "best friend" commit a murder-suicide? Yikes.
Mayweather has responded to the tragedy by sitting courtside at NBA games two nights in a row. On Monday night -- just hours after the shooting -- Mayweather was seen with a female companion at the Los Angeles Clippers-Phoenix Suns game at the Staples Center.
Then, on Tuesday night he was spotted again -- this time grinning and chatting on the phone -- with girlfriend Liza Hernandez at the Los Angeles Lakers-Sacramento Kings game
