Novak Djokovic Gifts Conan O’Brien With Tiny Racquet, Lets Him Lick His Stamp
In the wake of this year's Wimbledon, it's clear that Novak Djokovic has finally broken the monotonous stranglehold Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have had on men's tennis for far too long. But as great as that news was for the sport, it's even better for those of us who know Djokovic's true talents lie in the world of comedy. The current world #1 was a guest last night on Conan and brought his comedic A-game, gifting Conan O'Brien with a tiny tennis racquet and launching a feud between the host and his Serbian counterpart, Ivan Ivanovic.
The interview went rather predictably as far as questions go, with O'Brien asking Djokovic whether he ever got "sick of seeing your own face" in Serbia and how he dealt with the fame. That train of thought didn't last too long, however, as O'Brien began asking about his favorite subject: himself. "Aren't I already quite famous in Serbia? I assume that I am a golden god." Djokovic let him down easy that, while he was famous, he had some competition-- a mysterious fellow by the name of Ivan Ivanovic (relation to Ana?), who Djokovic claimed was "trying to impersonate you, but he is half your size" (we gather from this clip that Mr. Ivanovic is a little bit more of a ladies' man than our O'Brien, size notwithstanding).
Djokovic also probably broke some sort of male tennis player record on the program in being the first to come onto the host-- kind of. Along with the tiny tennis racquet he gave the host, which O'Brien eagerly began flailing around with mock skill, Djokovic also brought some stamps, adding suggestively, "maybe you can take the stamp, you can lick me and put me wherever you'd like." In a similar "not exactly what it sounds like" vein, Djokovic also explained how he modeled a Speedo in exchange for "300 bucks from some guy," and warned not to play tennis on an airplane wing-- a thing he actually did.
