Patriots OL Nate Solder Announces That His Infant Son Has Cancer
On Monday evening the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe reported that Patriots offensive tackle Nate Solder's infant son Hudson is battling kidney cancer.
Solder - who earlier this year revealed that he himself had been diagnosed with testicular cancer in April of 2014 and underwent successful surgery to remove the testicle - has been on injured reserve since October after suffering torn biceps.
His announcement about his son was made during the Above & Beyond the Gratitude Gala benefiting the Joe Andruzzi Foundation on Monday. Hudson was born in July and was diagnosed last month when a Wilms’ tumor was discovered in his kidneys, and according to Howe he has already completed a few rounds of chemotherapy at the Boston Childrens’ Hospital.
We send our very best thoughts out to the Solder family.
