PLAYER CAM: Everton's U-21 GK Russell Griffiths Gives You A Taste Of Life Between The Posts
Move over Tim Howard! Everton released a video Tuesday of their under-21 goalkeeper Russell Griffiths going through individual drills during preseason camp in Austria. It seems like they made him wear a GoPro-like device on his chest to give fans a taste of what’s it like to work between the posts. We get to see the keeper for the Toffees work on his footwork, volleys and reactive drills during his session. He also did a ton of cardio, which you don’t normally expect to see out of someone who stands in front of the net for 90-plus minutes.
Goalkeepin’ ain’t easy.
This guy might be the keeper of the future for Everton. Griffiths helped win a title for the U-18 squad last year and has been recently promoted to the U-21 roster, leaving the 18-year-old one step closer to being Tim Howard’s backup.
