Reports: Jose Canseco Accidentally Shot Off His Middle Finger
According to multiple news stations in Las Vegas, former MLB outfielder and one half of the Bash Brothers, Jose Canseco, was accidentally shot Tuesday night. It appears as if Canseco is recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the hand at the hospital, allegedly.
Here's what KLAS-TV's Natalie Cullen is reporting.
A neighbor tells 8 News NOW former baseball star Jose Canseco was hurt in an accidental shooting Tuesday afternoon at his house on the eastside of the Las Vegas valley. Metro Police confirm there was an accidental shooting at the address, but would not confirm the former player was hurt. However, records show Canseco owns the home where the shooting happened.
Canseco was one of the top home-run hitters in the late 80s and early 90s, but nowadays, he's known for his book "Juiced" where he reveled names of prominent players who use of steroids during his time. He's also known for doing some whacky shit on Twitter. If the reports are true, let's hope he's all right.
UPDATE: His fiancée Leila Knight told TMZ Sports that Canseco shot off his middle finger while cleaning his gun. Ouch!
