The 5 Best NFL Touchdown Celebrations Players Got Fined For
NFL Touchdown celebrations are hilarious, entertaining, and basically everything you want when your favorite team scores. The NFL has notoriously been strict when it comes to these celebrations, fining players thousands of dollars for their few seconds of celebration. As the fines mount up, the NFL has been rumored to be taking a second-look at these celebratory offenses during the off-season. Here's a list of some of our all-time favorites.
1.) Antonio Brown- Steelers v. Colts
Known for his excessive celebrations, it was no surprise Antonio leapt onto the goal post after scoring a punt return touchdown. It draws a fine, but the ref can barely keep a straight face while calling it.
2.) Randy Moss- Minnesota v. Green Bay
Dubbed a "disgusting act" by Joe Buck, Moss notoriously pretended to moon the Green Bay fans in 2004 at a NFC wild card game. To rub salt in the wound, Moss infamously said he'd be paying the fine in "straight cash, homie."
3.) Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson- Cincinnati v. Chicago
Known for making a laughing stock of the NFL, Chad Johnson has some amazingly memorable touchdown celebrations. From donning a sombrero on the sidelines after his famous name-change, to wearing a Hall of Fame jacket after a touchdown, he definitely goes down as one of the most creative touchdown celebrants. Here's a classic Ochocinco river dance:
4.) Terrell Owens - 49ers v. Cowboys
After a touchdown, T.O. disrespects "America's team" by standing in the middle of the Dallas star while holding his arms outward. Dallas Cowboy Emmitt Smith decided he'd take back the star in the next play to show T.O. who's boss. That didn't work for T.O.'s ego, so he makes another TD, runs to the star, and is followed by Cowboys' George Teague who definitely tried to fight him. One for the books.
5.) Joe Horn- NYG v. New Orleans
An all-time classic, this Joe Horn cellphone celebration is a must-have on the list. Confident in his ability, Horn planned this celebration out by stashing a cell phone in the padding. Once he made the touch down, he took it out, and proceeded to "make a call." The disrespect is definitely real, and we love it.
