The Daily Show Just Killed The NCAA And Their Insane Rules Last Night
We all know how hypocritical it is for the NCAA to make billions off the virtually free labor their student-athletes provide, while potentially letting said athletes deal with the their own medical expenses and exploiting legal loopholes to strip them of their eligibility. And while The Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi is a little late to the party, he comes prepared with the biting insight that only satire can provide.
Check out this segment from last night's episode, in which Mandvi hears the cases of Joel Bauman and Ed O'Bannon, and then the "response" of the NCAA -- or as they're more eloquently known, "douchebags."
If you're curious, below is the "offending" song and video that cost Bauman his ability to wrestle for Minnesota, the one that he has yet to break even on. His attire in the video is appropriate, considering he's now a prisoner to his sport's governing body.
