The Only Real Way To Mark The Tour De France: Bicycle-Shaped Crop Circles
The Tour de France might not have quite the same American mainstream pull now that there's no Lance Armstrong captivating, inspiring and/or infuriating the public, but it's still very much happening, and as this crowd watching the pack race by proves, it's no less an event.
The race is an especially big event for those who can watch it themselves, and for those who actually see the race pass by their own stomping grounds? That's the kind of brush with something big that only comes around so often, and one group of French farmers made sure that when the Tour passed them by, they'd get noticed too:
Mission accomplished...and well-deserved. They even got a shoutout from the announcers for a job well done. And extra credit for the vehicles circling to form more noticeable wheels - we have a feeling the huge crop circle bike would have been noticeable enough even without the moving parts, but hey, if you're going to do it, why not go the extra mile? We're not exactly sure how much extra time and effort went into this creation, but for the sake of the farmers, we hope the extra attention received more than validates it.
Note: all praise of the farmers' crop circle in this post shall be redacted if it turns out aliens did it.
