Video: Aya Miyama Equalizes Women’s World Cup Final For Japan, Extra Time Ahead
It took a long time for either Japan or the United States to score in the Women's World Cup final, but once Alex Morgan gave the Americans the lead, it didn't take long for Japan to strike back. Aya Miyama struck in the 81st minute to knot up the match at a goal apiece.
The goal came after the U.S. defense failed to clear the ball out, and Miyama took advantage and finished off the play. It was the last score of regulation.
