Week 5 In Fantasy Football, As Told Through GIFs
Throughout the season, we'll be recapping the week that was in fantasy football through GIFs. For the previous week's installment, click here.
This week is going to be a little bit different, America. We can't give you the pound-for-pound, blow-by-blow analysis of the week that was, because, well, everything is kind of up in the air right now.
Well, almost everything. Evan's fantasy team is basically hitched to the real life 49ers offense, and so after the real life 49ers offense got punked by the real life New York Giants defense, Evan responded like so:
In other unambiguous results news, Matt's team stepped on Dylan's, whose luck with wide receivers continues to suck big-time. When the season started, Dylan probably didn't think that a WR stable that included Hakeem Nicks, Greg Jennings, Reggie Wayne and Kevin Ogletree would be a problem. Instead, a plague of inconsistencies, injuries, and inconceivable ignominy have the guy feeling like he just can't win, that the fantasy football gods taunt him at every conceivable opportunity:
Meanwhile, the romp through the daisies that is Sean's fantasy season continues. After spending the first five weeks annihilating pretty much everything in his path, dude got so confident that he forgot to change his defense and flex wideout. Jen, who has been doing some beating of her own lately, noticed this, and sat down to watch the Sunday slate like so:
Jen's confidence was misplaced. Even with his D and flex receiver on a bye, and even with downright stinky production from both his running backs, Sean won again. We're starting to realize that Sean's super-computer team is just better constructed than those crafted by our feeble human brains. But of late, there's something sweet about how he's acting in victory, and after the Aaron Rodgers Air Show wrapped up its final act, Sean was just like:
But really, that's all we have in the results column for you. As we mentioned, a lot is riding on this Broncos-Chargers tilt: if Handsom Eric Decker grabs a TD, Glenn is likely to sneak past Max; Willis McGahee could drag Matt past Keith; Peyton Manning and Ryan Matthews just might get Jordan a last-minute, Mr. Orange-style comeback:
Either way, we are excited for Monday Night. Even more excited than Jon Gruden!* To see how it all shakes out, don't forget to tune in next week.
*This is not possible.
