YES: Will Ferrell Returns To SNL As George W. Bush, Roasts Republican Candidates
Will Ferrell's impersonation of George W. Bush, honed during his days on Saturday Night Live, could be considered the legendary sketch show's definitive political impression. Ferrell's A-list celebrity status and his uncanny ability to tap into Dubbya" Bush's distinctly unpresidential personality- combined with the fact that he bears a strinking resemblance to the former President - has created a recipe for success that is matched perhaps only by Tina Fey's Sarah Palin.
Yeah, that never gets old. Especially because the sad part is, Palin's antics seem tame in comparison to the behavior of the clown show that makes up the majority of the far-too-many Republican presidential candidates.
That of course is exactly why it was the perfect time to bring back Ferrell's Bush; to remind America just how far from the Bush-bashing days we have come now that the Donald Trumps and Ben Carsons of the world teeter terrifyingly on the brink of actual political success. Ferrell went on to lay into every single one of them with the endearingly accurate albeit wildly inappropriate ramblings that we have come to love and cherish.
"Cruz and Rubio. Rubio and Cruz. Sounds like a Miami law firm. If you've been injured on the job, call Rubio & Cruz."
He also pointed to their wholly hypocritical dispproval of immigrants, and did his best to remind everyone in his own uncomfortable but well-meaning way that most of us were immigrants at some point.
"The way I see it, unless your name is Running Bear or Chief Two Rivers, we're all anchor babies. That's something to think about."
He was in truly rare form by the end of his rant when he finally addressed Bush's brother Jeb(!)
"Poor Jeb. You gotta admit that it's a pretty good plot twist that I turned out to be the smart one...He doesn't stand a chance in this field. He's an insider who knows how to govern. The Republicans don't want that. They want someone who is coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs."
Oh man...if you don't laugh you'll cry, amiright?!
